Comment: I am a 35-year veteran of the Broadcast industry. Most recently, I was President of Network Asia, the national sales organization of Multicultural Broadcasting, the nations largest Radio and Television Company servinig the Asian community. I was previously President of Winstar Radio Networks and Winstar Interactive Media sales, the national sales organization for branded web sites such as Bloomberg.com, MensHealth.com, Zagat.com and BetterHomesandGardens.com. Prior to Winstar, I served as Vice President, General Manager of KRLD and the Texas State Network. KRLD is the leading News/Talk/Sports station in Dallas, Texas and home to the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and University of Texas Sports. I also worked for CBS for 15 years. I held various sales and marketing positions in Los Angeles, Boston, St.Louis and New York. Positions included Vice President and General Manager of Radio Spot Sales and Vice President and General Manager of the CBS Radio Network where I negotiated radio rights for Major Leagur Baseball, the NFL, The Masters and the NCAA. During my tenure the Network achieved record sales and profits. |

I have lived in Mobile, Alabama for 23 years. I received a Ph. D. in Comparative Literature from NYU in 1985. After teaching at Michigan State University, the University of South Alabama, Spring Hill College, I taught creative writing and English in gifted programs at two local high schools. I have published two books of poetry, most recently Measures to Movements, a book of poems on paintings. My husband is a history professor at the University of South Alabama specializing in the Renaissance and Reformation. We have one daughter, Hannah, who is about to graduate from the University of Chicago Law School. |
