Still in Buffalo, still working as faculty at the University with no plans to retire in the near future. I have started traveling more, most recently Burma last March, river cruise in Russia in July. Mother of a developmentally disabled daughter Jessica who lives in a group home nearby. I own a 1902 house 2 blicks from the Darwin Martin House (major FLW restoration) and live with 2 charming cats, Magnificat and Bigfoot. Bflo. is 30 minutes from Niagara Falls which everyone should visit, let me know if you are in the area.

| Comment: I am a retired special education teacher and national education reporter, although I still Tweet as @aimnoncat about students with disabilities, especially those with dyslexia. My husband of 45 years and I have two great sons and three grandchildren. We still own our first house on a barrier beach in NY that we all enjoy. We are having fun living in Old Town, Alexandria that is historic, alive, and always interesting. We are traveling quite a bit now. Past trips include Europe, South America, and Cuba, with Africa and Russia coming up in the next 12 months. | |

I can't believe we've been out of high school almost 50 years! How did the time go so fast? I don't know about you, but I keep thinking, "How could I be so old?!!" I'm now known as Christy rather than Harriet. I call it my "chosen name" rather than my "given name." I've been married to Rich Bergemann for 36 years. We have four sons. Over the years I've changed professions several times. I started on the self-employed route about 35 years ago. I've spent many years doing writing and editing. For the last 20 years I've focused on teaching childbirth education and related topics. I'm enjoying my work too much to consider retiring.
