Comment: Hi Everyone!  I am so sorry to not be able to attend the reunion.  I was the unfortunate casualty of a man who missed a step at an outdoor gathering and plowed into me.  I ended up with a compound fracture and both bones broken in my lower leg.  The walker and wheelchair are my modes of transportation for 12 weeks.  I'm halfway healed but not up to the reunion as yet.  My husband, Jim, of 46 years has been my caregiver.  Marriage has a new meaning for us!  Our four children live in Chicago and our hometown of Bloomington, Il.  We have 5 grandchildren and one more is expected in early October.  After graduating from Laue, I atetnded SMU in Dallas for 2 years then transferred to the University of Illinois to earn a BS in elementary education.  I had a short career teaching before our children were born.  Afterwards, I got to continue teaching at home.  Now I love to look after the grandkids, volunteer, ski, travel and garden (though not this summer).  It's  been great reading what our class has accomplished in the last 50 years.  I feel so fortunate to have received such a great education at a public high school that gave us the tools to proceed forward.  Thanks to all the committee for their work is making the reunion a successful happening.

Comment: My husband, Larry and I, have been married almost 33 years.  My youngest daughter, Chelsy, 28, is living and working in Denver extracting marihuana chemicals.  My son Sean, 42, is an actuary married to Caroline, a math teacher at a charter school in San Antonio.  The love of my life is my two grandchildren, Logan, 5, and Maddie who just turned 3. 


 


 


I have spent the last 10 years reinventing myself.  Without sight, I have accomplished a successful career as a home based travel agent, have learned to live completely independently by myself, and over the last five years, I have gone down to a Size 4, and is toned and buffed.  I have discovered my inner strength, and how strong one person can become.
