Comment: It's amazing how time flies, and it's our 50th reunion! I so enjoyed being with friends and especially close friends at Ladue High. I loved the educational challenges I received at Ladue and all the great teachers we had. I confess, I loved studying.

After Ladue I went to Drake University in 1964. I received an Art Education degree and teaching certificate in June of 1968. I am very proud of receiving a good, solid education at Drake, where I also learned to think for myself and learned more about friendship, fun and dating. I was a Young Republican for the first two years and a Young Democrat for the last two years. Studying political science and economics helped me. One of the courses I took was "Marriage and the Family". I still love to draw and paint, though now I mostly paint in pastels (that's oil from paint and wax made into crayon form). I do colorful, realistic portraits, animals and landscapes. I was quite influenced by the American Indians in the southwest, as well as sthe Aztec Indians in color and some design.

After graduating, and during my first marriage, I began teaching art. I taught 550 students every two weeks. They were kindergarten through 6th grade, and were a pleasure and a joy.

Choosing to have my only son, Michael, on May 24, 1970 was the first most important decision I ever made. He was a wonderfully bright, creative and inquisitive child who became a fine upstanding person of good will. I am very proud of the man he is. He and his wife live in a home nearby in St. Louis where my husband and I reside. Our grandchild, Michael, is in heaven. We will meet him someday.

After my son, Michael, was older and I became single again, I trained to be a medical secretary as I was told "Art teachers are a dime a dozen.  "Let's say I got lots of experience.

One of my favorite jobs was working with an M.D./PhD. at Washington University,  who was a medical researcher of the human brain.

The second most importanat decision was to search for a church home that fit me theologically and spiritually and was inclusive and warm.  I found it when I walked  intothe big heavy doors of our beautiful Third Baptist Church, where I first got reaquainted with a classmate from Ladue. The first person I met said, "Susie Weissenborn, what are you doing here?" I said, "Linda Pillsbury, what are you doing here?"

The third most important decision of my life happened 16 years ago on April 25, 1998, when I was 52 years old.  After being single, I married Charles Seewoster, also 52 years old.  We had so much in common.  He was so nice, a person of good character, brilliant, as well as strong, spiritual, loved all kinds of people, loved parks, loved church, etc. He was also involved with the Fine Arts through theatre, movies and vocal music. The icing on the cake was that he was  tall and handsome.   He was in the Navy during the Vietnam era.

Where did I find such a man? At the same church. We both started attending Third Baptist Church one week apart.  We became good friend, and worked at a job together. Then, later, he asked me out saying, "I'm not dating Miss so and so, are you available?"

Two years later, Charles and I were married at Third Baptist Church down by the Fox, with church family, relatives and friends.  My second best friend, Linda Pillsury Roos, played the piano while her daughter sang beautifully. The incredible pipe organ played "The Wedding March."

I truly love God and God does give you the desires of your heart.  At least, He did for me and I am grateful.

Comment: Patricia (Kreysar) Shaw and I just celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary at Priest Lake in northern Idaho with our son and three of our five grandsons. Pat's twin sister Nancy (Kreysar) Cambon and her husband Jim joined us. Best memory of the anniversary was when Pat surprised us by wearing her wedding dress.  She looked great.  It was as good as the first time.
